Never was there a book written that made higher claim for its
"hero." To the Jesus of history its author gives the most exalted titles. In fact, in the very opening verse he calles him
God (Douglas 309-310). So, whith that knowledge in hand, let take a closer look at this Gospel of John. At the authorship
of it, the place of composition, the recipients of it, the date of its composition, and its purpose for composition.
